We got the sweetest little dog …

… and then we got her home!

The timid, sweet puppy we took home on Sunday …
Sweet Molly

…comes out of her shell a bit, starts to get playful ….

and then the inevitable.

I wonder where she gets her willfulness from – her mom or her dad?

We are so screwed for having kids!

Sororities aren’t all that bad. Speaking as a member of one of the largest Greek systems in the country, I have never heard of anything like that. Granted there are some crazy people out there and these things do happen but it shouldn’t degrade the entire system. There are tons of people in this world that may have a hard time meeting people and when you are on a campus of 30,000+ it makes it even more difficult. The Greek system is a good way to shrink the campus and make it a little more manageable for those that are intimidated by it. Greek life certainly isn’t for everyone but it does provide a fulfilling experience for those that aren’t in it just for the parties. And to be super cliché, 3 years out of school I still talk to many of my “sisters” (which you will never hear me call them that) and some of them will be in my wedding.

    Don’t hate me.

Ehh, I’m just bitter because I went to a small school like DePauw and was rejected from the all the sororities. No joke. Apparently I was not good enough for them. I think its nice you are still friends with the girls from your sorority … there are definitely pluses!!! I just hate the politics.

Agreed. I was lucky to part of a sorority that thought hazing and all that other crap was a joke. We also prided ourselves on having a diverse group of girls so that made it a lot easier to swallow.

Recruitment is a joke, I will 100% agree with that. One of my best friends from High School was cross-cut and it was terrible. I don’t think they should decide a girls social life for the next 4 years via scantron (thats how we did it). The Men’s version is much more acceptable…until you get to the hazing.

    I was in a strictly non-hazing fraternity.

Zangzor: I am sorry if you were a member of one the “sororities” or “fraternities” you described but I can say with conviction that that is not the case in most houses. As we know, the media blows pretty much any story out of proportion (not to disregard what does happen to some people), and yes there are houses that do things they should not. But to say that members of the Greek system do not help each other is a little ridiculous. I can list off plenty of stories where houses have pulled through for a member in need. In a well-run, morally responsible house (yes, the majority are like this), there is a camaraderie that cannot be beat. If socially embarrassing rituals are part of this equation then pretty much every sport or activity-related club should be grouped into the same area as the Greek system. In my 4 years of college I saw more athletes looking like fools than I did any Greek system member.

If you weren’t in a sorority of fraternity you shouldn’t make such generalizations.

I just watched this video with the sound on, and probably the best part is that he references the weather man DAVE BROWN at the end. Sweet.
