At least my wedding won’t be during March Madness

I had my first wedding-related nightmare last night. This is very bad news, as the wedding is still more than a year away. Not to mention that, so far, in my waking hours, I haven’t been overly concerned with the wedding planning.

In this dream, my dad showed up to the wedding with his shirttails hanging out, tie tied all screwy, drunk, and claiming, in his way, that he was “stylin’.”

Also, I was getting married in a huge cathedral (which also happened to be the Field Museum, with lots of dinosaur skeletons in the lobby), and I accidentally walked out from behind the altar.

And I recall spending a lot of time in this obscure bride’s bathroom that was up a bunch of steep, winding stairs with a low ceiling like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

I don’t remember much more, but apparently it was pretty rough, because I woke up thrashing and sweaty.

In lighter wedding news: I came across a slideshow of someone’s wedding shot by my genius photographer, Dennis Lee. The man is talented. Bonus points if you can identify which picture might as well have been taken at our wedding! (Hint: it’s number 41 in the gallery view.)

She also hired Sonia Roselli for hair and makeup, and I’m looking forward to that brilliant woman doing my wedding makeup, too! If my real wedding is going to be anything like the one I had last night, I’m going to need to look good.

Sheesh. Make sure Sonia uses waterproof makeup, in case you have to keep walking up and down those windy stairs, or in case you wake up in a sweat again.

Before Rosa and I were married, I had several scary dreams, mostly about how everyone was late, and everyone was mad at me because everything was going wrong. I bet a lot of event planners have scary dreams before their weddings. Don’t worry – everything will be great!

Seriously, I like that guys photographs.
Congrats for choosing one of the few wedding photographers that I’ve seen who doesn’t make me want to puke a book on how to whine.

Sonia was great…she did Jamie’s wedding! And she has one of those airbrush foundation sprayer thingys. I want one.
